Summary:

As climbers we all have personal goals. This course aims to accelerate your progression towards those goals, whether that be building to a specific grade and needing some input to get there. Or Dreaming of larger routes further afield and need some more technical know-how to feel you are up to the challenge. Whatever it may be, this is the course for you!

Whatever your current level in whatever discipline of climbing 

Trad climbers from VD and up all the way through to Sport climbers at F5 upwards wanting to have the skills to push onto harder climbs

What you'll Learn...
  • Trad climbers aiming to push from one grade to the next, covering tactics to develop your climbing . Eg VDiff to Sev, HVS to E1, Sev to HS/VS, or even E1+

  • Sport climbers at any grade wanting to have the skills to push in areas such as falling, redpointing/projecting tactics on 5s/6s/7s/+

  • Complex rope techniques - Using half ropes, climbing and protecting traverses safely, self rescue skills and prussiking up ropes

  • Trusting your trad gear -  Falling workshop, aimed at nervous leaders to begin to trust the gear they are placing.
Experience needed:

It would be great if you are leading outdoors (No minimum grade for either Trad or Sport). However we understand everyone has different levels of experience in many different climbing styles, so here is a simple check list of skills we are looking for. Course is open to 16+ 

  • Fit equipment correctly
  • Tie into a harness
  • Lead Belay
  • Lead Climb Sport or Trad climbs 
  • Feel confident climbing outdoors on rock.

How to book:
  • Join an Open Course (Pairs): We run scheduled courses throughout the year with a tailored 1:2 instructor ratio. If you are booking as a pair, simply pick a date that works for you and book online below.

  • Booking solo? Please note our open dates require a minimum booking of 2 people (or the equivalent payment) to run. Contact us to see if we can add you to an existing group, or ask us about upgrading to a private, bespoke day!

  • Go Private & Bespoke: If our scheduled dates don't suit you—or if you want exclusive guiding—contact us to arrange a private session customized exactly to your schedule and goals.


FAQ's

We understand this is a very tricky time for everyone! If for any reason you can't make a course with us because of COVID then don't panic. We will guarantee you space on any future course! We have said to everyone we will honour any bookings made, which have been affected by the pandemic into the foreseeable future with no expiry date. 

We keep a very close eye on the weather at all times. If its just looking a little damp, overcast or showery the course will go ahead as normal and most of the time its never as bad as met office makes out! We are experts at finding dry and suitable areas to train you and our local knowledge is second to none. If however the weather is looking terrible for the duration of the course then you will be given the choice of re-booking onto another session later in the year and we will prioritise your booking over any new ones we receive.

All our staff are qualified and assessed by the Mountain Training Association and have years of coaching and instructing experience and all participants are covered for all activities via our public liability insurance.
