Summary:

This full 2 day course covers navigation, equipment, rope work and survival techniques that are vital to reaching your summit and getting back down safely. Whether you're new to this world or an experienced hill walker, these sessions are designed so that everyone improves upon or learns new skills.

Who's this for?

Anyone looking to start their journey into mountaineering. No previous experience necessary. Lets head to the mountains! Course is open to 16+ 

Kit needed:

Some kit can be provided, a kit list will be sent after booking confirmation. 

​Itinerary:

Our normal start time and meeting point is 9:00am at Ogwen Cottage in the Owgen Valley. Most of the mountains we like to use are within walking distance from here, however occasionally we use some further away which are best suited for the course. Your own transport is advantageous however sharing lifts and car pooling can be arrange if we visit a slightly further away location. We will advise you if your instructor is planning on using a location further away before starting the course. We aim to be finished around 4:30pm each day.

​Mountain Training:

This course is part of the Mountain Training's 'Hill and Mountain skills' accreditation scheme. If you would like to be awarded with a certificate at the end of your course, all you need to do is register with Mountain Training and give us your membership number. Registration is just £10 which can be paid at anytime piror on your course.

How to book:

To book its super simple, we have 'Open Courses' which run regularly throughout the year on set dates. Just select which date works for you and book online below. 

If the open dates don't suit or you'd rather have us all to yourself, select 'Book Privately' and we will run this course completely private and bespoke to you, on the date you request. Your course will run consecutively from that date. 

We simply add a small 'private booking fee' (£40) and need a minimum of 2 people to book.

FAQ's

If you would like certification from our NGB Mountain training firstly you need to create an account with them on their webite. Once thats done you then need to register for the award which costs around £10 for anyone over 18. All you have to do is let us know your candidate number prior to the course starting and we will do the rest.

How to Find Us

The Snowdonia National Park is a Mountaineer's playground. We love being in the mountains and getting to share our experience with you in this stunning place is a privilege. We normally start this course in the Ogwen valley as we have access to a whole variety of amazing venues within a very short walking distance from the main carpark.
