Summary:

This course has been specifically designed so you can tackle hard moutaineering routes and is the second course in our 'Mountaineering Rope-work' workshops. Our aim is to develop your mountaineering skills much further and look in depth at technical rope management and climber safety. We hope by the end of this course you will be able to head out and tackle the more serious mountaineering routes in the UK as well as give you the skills to manage yoursleves safely in the Alps. Ths is also an excellent introduction to summer Alpine rope work.

Who's it for?

Ideally you would have attended our Mountain Rope Work - Fundamentals course however this isn't essential. However we do ask clients to have been scrambling with a rope prior to attending this course. A little check list of skills needed to attend is below.

• Fit a climbing harness and helmet
• Understand climbing knots and basic rig set ups
• Lead belay a climber
• Have done some roped climbing outdoors

Kit Needed:

All climbing kit is provided, a full kit list will be sent prior to starting the course, however we expect you may have your own by this point so please feel free to bring it!

Itinerary:

Our normal start time and meeting point is 9:00am outside the Ogwen Valley tourist centre. Most of the mountains are within walking distance from here, however occasionally we use some further away which are best suited for the course. Your own transport is advantageous however sharing lifts and car pooling can be arrange if we visit a slightly further away location. We will advise you if your instructor is planning on using a location further away before starting the course. We aim to be finished around 4:30pm each day.
