Our beginner course is the best place to start your journey to becoming a climber. We will go over a variety of skills so that by the end you should feel confident enough to tie in, fit a harness and helmet, belay and be able to boulder safely outside.
Who's it for?
Anyone looking to start climbing. No previous experience is needed.
Minimum age requirement 14+ all under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What you will learn:
Fitting harnesses and helmets
Tying a figure of 8 knot
Tying in to a harness
Tying off a belay
At the end of this course you should be able to sign up to any climbing centre in the country, without having to do an induction for each wall, and be able to boulder safely outside.
All climbing kit is provided, including shoes and chalk. If you wish to bring your own gear thats no problem.

Our start time and meeting point is normally 9:30am at The Roaches Tea Rooms.
Most of the climbing is within 5mins walking distance, however occasionally we use some crags slightly further away which are best suited for the course. Your own transport is advantageous however sharing lifts and car pooling can be arrange if we visit a slightly further away location. We will advise you if your instructor is planning on using a location further away before starting the course.
