"Tom had never been off a mountain path before. This was proper mountaineering"
Scrambling is a step up from mountain walking and involves climbing steep off trail mountain routes with your hands and feet. It can be incredibly rewarding knowing you've taken the 'hard' way to a summit and experience a more physical way of exploring the hills. On this course we will teach you all the skills needed to look after yourselves safely.
Who's it for?
Our scrambling course is for physically fit hikers looking to challenge themselves further in the hill.
What you will learn:
Scrambling grading systems
Mountaineering rope skills
All climbing kit is provided, a full kit list will be sent prior to starting the course.
Our normal start time and meeting point is 9:30am at The Moel Siabod Cafe. Most of the mountains are within walking distance, however occasionally we use some further away which are best suited for the course. Your own transport is advantageous however sharing lifts and car pooling can be arrange if we visit a slightly further away location. We will advise you if your instructor is planning on using a location further away before starting the course.
This course is a bespoke to you!
Therefore all you have to do is contact us with a date in mind and we'll do the rest.
